What is the point of clear mascara?

I know it is supposed to just emphasise your eyes, but it never seems to work for me. Should I just put a lot more on? I tend to use brown if I want a more natural look, so I don't see the point of clear.What is the point of clear mascara?

Clear mascara's good for people who have quite dark or thick lashes and find that black mascara makes their eyelashes look too much.


It can also be used to subtly improve your eyelashes, without adding too much and being too obvious. this is good for people who work, or go to school in a place with a dress code that doesn't allow make-up.


I too find brown mascara a nicer way to achieve a natural look, brown mascara can lengthen and thicken lashes like black can. clear mascara doesn't generally do this.


some people mix eyeshadow or pigments with clear mascara to achieve colored eyelashes, but i find mixing medium works better for this.
Clear mascara is a primer, like a base-coat.


Kind of like when you are doing your nails..


you shouldn't put a lot on, because it can cause your


colored mascara to get clumpy.





just learn how to apply it correctly..


try different methods of how you put it on..


i always use a magnified mirror and hold it by my chin

clear mascara is useless! it actually annoys me in a way when people use it. but i don't think its a base coat as that white stuff you use for that.i think girls look bare without mascara..i use 3 to create a good lash!
clear mascara is used to make ur eyelashes longer. and its better for school. if u dont like see the point then dont use it lol or get a blk one but put a little bit on because then u get the lashes long and dark.
I use to think it was just for little kiddies starting out with mascara so when they rub their eyes or something huge smudges of black don't go everywhere.

Clear gel mascara supposed to have keratin in it.
I think its quite pointless, but i agree with the person that said about putting it on eyebrows to give them a quick tidy up :)
its really just for a natural look but it works really well if you put it on after another colour to make the look stand out and make you eye lashes look stunning.
Make ur eyelashes longer without it looking un-natural. Its better than normal mascara!
Its good to sepertate your lashes when you want a softer look, also great for Guys

Just making ur eye-lashes look longer but not unnatural. It's the opposite nowadays.
you're right, it's pointless on lashes. i only use it as a brow gel.
