Is baiting someone legal? 10 points for clear and helpful answer?

As an example, let's say that somebody ask you to do a non serious but still an illegal activity.

Would it be within my rights to say ';yes'; while setting things up with the police, so that they can catch him while he's explaining the job to me?Is baiting someone legal? 10 points for clear and helpful answer?
It depends. If you say ';yes'; and then immediately report the episode, you are ok. But if you wait until someone furthers the prospective crime, you are a conspirator.

For example, let's say you friend asks you to rob a bank with them. You say ';yes';, but then immediately pick up the phone a call the police, and cooperate with them. You are fine.

Now let's say you say ';yes';, and then your friend buys you a gun, and gives you a copy of the getaway plan. And then the next day he gives you the combination to the safe. And then the next day, he tells you when the security guards go on break. And then finally, on the day of the planned crime, you go to the police. It might be to late for you.Is baiting someone legal? 10 points for clear and helpful answer?
If someone wants to lure you into doing something which you know is illegal or unethical - you should report this to the proper authorities. If they wish to take this to the ultimate they will have you wear a wire and get that person to incriminate themselves. Your question as to whether this would be legal for you to do, doesn't make much sense, unless you are trying to frame someone. If you're not a criminal then it is your civic duty to uphold the law.
it might be legal the way you describe it but think about how the lawyers will describe it. the law is never in black and white, unfortunately.
Yes it is legal the way you described it.*
