Try Right-Clicking on the Desktop and selecting Properties. Then click the Advanced tab and there should be a slider which will let you adjust the resolution of your screen. This may help.





I often find the easiest way is just to start up the laptop with the monitor plugged in and then close the screen, so that the monitor will automatically take the signal
