Some of my guppies fins are turning clear or getting pointed and then die?

Some of my male guppies' fins are turning clear then they get raggedy and stay on the bottom of the tank then die. Others that have had big colorful tails, their tails get pointed and turn dark in color then they die. What can i do to cure this? I have lost most of my adult males. It doesn't seem to be affecting the females. Some of my guppies fins are turning clear or getting pointed and then die?
If your tank is new, then it is probably still cycling, which means that you could be experiencing high ammonia levels, which is killing them. Be sure to let your tank cycle for 2-3 weeks and wait for ammonia, nitrate, and nitrite levels to stabilize before adding fish.

It sounds like fin rot. As long as you don't have salt intolerant fish, or snails, start adding one tablespoon of aquarium salt per five gallons of water each time you do a water change. Do frequent 20% every other day water changes for a week or so, and see if it begins to help. You can try melafix too, it should help as well. Some of my guppies fins are turning clear or getting pointed and then die?
First thing how big is the tank how many fish are in it and do you have an oxygenator thing it spits out bubbles. I have had goldfish in a smallish tank with no air pump thing and they would start to turn clearish then die. So if this is similar tp your case then you might want to buy an air pump and make sure the fish arn't to crouded.

Hope i helped!!!
