Please make some clear points about roulette strategies.?

Recently I read a site in which people discussed a strategy (offered for a 100E donation to a charity) using combinations of sixline, corner, street, split. The inventor was like: ';It麓s all about mathematics and probability...'; But I still kind of feel that the roulette logic is just too simple to be overthrown. What do you think? Please make some clear points about roulette strategies.?
Even if you work out probabilities and the like; you will find that the 'house' always has the odds in it's favour - therefore my advice is not to play roulette.

The only tried and tested method of beating a roulette wheel, was to measure the inaccuracy in the wheel itself, i.e. because it is mechanical, it is not perfect and there will always be a very small amount of vertical movement - if you can measure this, you can slightly improve your chance of winning - but I don't know of any casino where you can even get close to the wheel itself!!
