Can someone point out the clear definition of a Christian in the Bible?

People that like to claim mormons arent christian also claim they get their authority and beliefs from the Bible.


So would someone like to back up their definition of statements like, you have to believe in the trinity, you cant believe Jesus and Satan are brothers, etc etc, using the Bible?Can someone point out the clear definition of a Christian in the Bible?
That's where the Orthodox and Catholics seem to have the upper hand over Protestants. They don't rely solely upon Scripture, which can be interpreted many different ways, but upon Tradition as well. As such, it's much easier to dismiss Mormons as heretics.Can someone point out the clear definition of a Christian in the Bible?
Christians are God's chosen and special people. They are priests and kings. They have God's righteousness in Christ. They proclaim the praises of God and they walk in God's marvellous light according to the following Scripture:





1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation. His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.

People can and do make the bible say whatever they want it to say to their own destruction. the Spirit of Truth is not in them.
There's no clear definition of a christian in the bible. Mormons carry a different bible, they added another book which is in the 4 gospels of the new testament. Christians are the name given to people who are followers of Jesus Christ. Do mormons follow Christ's teachings?
I believe the other christians would point the mormons to the scripture that discourages ';adding to or taking away from the word';. this would put mormons in league with antichrists.
I would think that anyone who follows the teachings of Christ is a christian.

The word Christian is used twice in the Bible. Acts 16:28 and 1Peter 4:16.





I've been taught (but don't know where the reference is) that christian was a term given to the followers of Jesus, the Christ (anointed one). It means little christ and was meant in a derogatory fashion. If I can find the reference, I'll let you know.





EDIT: About your comment on adding to or taking away... Jesus said those words. He said until ALL is fulfilled. Since ALL has NOT been fulfilled, then it still applies today.

Prior to that, Christians were still debating whether Jesus was a literary figure, a historical person, or a manifest divinity. The standardization of doctrines achieved at this conclave paved the way for the foundation of a powerful international Church with a unified message and mission.





So: in a pre-Nicene, pre-Catholic sense, sure, Mormons are Christians. That and a technological singularity will buy you eternal life in paradise.

He said: ';It is finished';... Yeshua and HaSa'tan (the devil) are not brothers...

There are no deffinitions of ';Christian'; in the Bible, Why? Well for one thing, ';Jesus'; himself was never a ';Christian';, he was always a Jew. So, logically, if you wanted to follow his example, you would become Jewish!, Also, Jesus was never ';The Christ';, ';Christ'; means ';The Annointed One';, Jesus never had his head annointed by anyone, let alone by anyone with the authority to do so, nor was he ever sanctified! Jesus was never the Messiah! Why? well in order to be ';The Messiah'; he would have to be ';of the line of david';, Jesus was of the line of Aaron, so cannot, ever, have been the Messiah!
